1. Visually inspect the workpieces that were transferred to the polishing process in the previous process, such as whether there are any missing welds, welding penetration, uneven depth of welding points, deviation from the joint too far, local depressions, uneven docking, whether there are deep scratches, bumps, serious deformations, and other defects that cannot be remedied in this process. If there are any of the above defects, they should be returned to the previous process for repair. If there are no aforementioned defects, proceed to this polishing process.
2. Coarse grinding, using 600 # abrasive tape to grind the workpiece back and forth on three sides. The goal of this process is to remove the welding points left by the workpiece welding, as well as the bumps that occurred in the previous process, to achieve the initial formation of the weld fillet. There are basically no large scratches or bumps on the horizontal and vertical surfaces. After this process, the surface roughness of the workpiece should reach R0.8mm. Pay attention to the inclination angle of the sanding machine and control the pressure of the sanding machine on the workpiece during the polishing process. Generally speaking, it is more appropriate to align with the surface being thrown in a straight line!
3. Semi precision grinding, using an 800 # abrasive belt to grind the three sides of the workpiece according to the previous round-trip grinding method, mainly involves correcting the joints that appeared in the previous process and further fine grinding the marks generated after rough grinding. The marks left by the previous process need to be repeatedly ground to ensure that there are no scratches on the surface of the workpiece and basically turn bright. The surface roughness of this process should reach R0.4mm. (Pay attention not to generate new scratches and bumps in this process, as such defects cannot be repaired in subsequent processes.)
4. Fine grinding, using a 1000 # abrasive belt, is mainly used to correct the small lines that appear in the previous process. The grinding method is the same as above. The goal of this process is to basically eliminate the seam between the grinding part and the ungrinded part of the workpiece, and further brighten the surface of the workpiece. The workpiece after grinding through this process should be basically close to the mirror effect, and the surface roughness of the workpiece should reach R0.1mm
