Composition of sand belt
Sandbelts are usually composed of a matrix, abrasive particles, and adhesives.
Matrix: A material similar to plastic film that is uniform, tear resistant, and has good toughness, usually polyester resin, used as the matrix material for abrasive/adhesive structures. In the past, textile materials or paper substrates have been used, but due to the inability to maintain constant contact of abrasive particles during the processing, it is difficult to maintain high consistency on the sand surface. Nowadays, polishing abrasive belts use an incompressible matrix while ensuring constant machining accuracy.

Abrasive particles: Apply a layer of uniformly sized abrasive particles on the surface of the substrate. Oil stone abrasive particles are generally divided into three types: alumina, silicon carbide, or ultra wear-resistant diamond.
Adhesive: A synthetic resin adhesive that fixes abrasive particles onto the substrate material. This ensures optimal precision machining performance and is suitable for modern water-based coolants.
