How to choose sandpaper for sanding wood
Wooden furniture, wooden products, and usually require polishing processing, with the intention of smoothing the surface of the wood, removing dust particles, and bubbles on the surface, and roughening the film surface to improve the adhesion of the coating. The commonly used polishing tool is sandpaper, which mainly includes:
1. Wood sandpaper
Wooden sandpaper is a commonly used sandpaper for polishing wood. It is usually sanded along the wood grain with a suitable type of sandpaper. For areas where the wood is not flat enough, sandpaper wrapped with small wooden blocks or hard rubber can be used for polishing.
2. Water sandpaper
Water sandpaper can also be used to polish wood, but it is rarely used because it needs to be polished with water, which may have an impact on the wood.
3. Iron sand paper
Iron sandpaper is a type of dry sanding paper, which is relatively coarse and is usually used to quickly polish metal surfaces. It is also possible to polish wood, but it is generally used for rough grinding.
2、 What type of sandpaper is good for wooden sandpaper
When polishing wood, it is necessary to choose a suitable sandpaper. Generally, using wood sandpaper is better, and can be used from white stubble wood products to wood polishing. Simply change the type of sandpaper according to different polishing stages
1. Under normal circumstances, wooden products are in a white stubble state and are often polished with 80 grit sandpaper to remove dirt such as wood wool, scratches, glue marks, and pencil marks from the wooden blank.
2. Then, use 360 degree wood sandpaper for edge trimming and deburring. This step involves flat grinding, which can be done by using wood sandpaper wrapped in small wooden blocks or hard rubber to polish the large surface.
3. After the wooden products are painted, the primer is fully ground with 360 grit sandpaper, and then 600 grit sandpaper is used to remove sand marks.
4. In the final polishing stage, use 1000-1500 grit sandpaper for full grinding, polish and shine, and then spray the topcoat.
